6 Step Night Time Skin Care Routine For All Skin Types

I’m a firm believer that having a calming night time routine sets a positive tone for the next day, I’m excited to share my beliefs through knowledge and tips for all skin types to add some positivity to your day.

I view my daily night time routine as a beauty ritual when I have time to pamper and reward my self fully to the present moment.

While we rest cell regeneration and replenishing accelerates throughout our bodies, so consistently capitalizing on your skin care right before bed increases the success rate of your overall skin care routine.

I believe that my 6 Step Night Time Skin Care Routine will help guide you to develop the routine that works best for you. Within each step I provide product recommendations and ingredient information for dry, oily, normal, combination, and sensitive skin.

My Skin Type Is…

Warm chocolate, lol. But seriously though, how I categorize my skin type depends on the season. Instead of trying to fight my skins nature, I go with the flow and treat my skin accordingly. During the summer months my skin is a combination of normal to dry and during the winter I have a combination of normal to oily skin.

Seasonal skin care routines are coming soon, to be notified about skin tips, reviews, and skin care breakdowns first, follow and subscribe to the platforms where I post the most.

Step 1. Makeup Removal

The makeup removal methods I’m currently aware of :

Currently I’m using the Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet this emollient contains rice ferment filament, and capric triglycerides. The rice ferment filament aka “sake” minimizes signs of aging, tightens your skin, assists with cell regeneration, and tightens pores with consistent use. The capric triglyceride is a natural combination coconut oil and glycerin, this serves as a humectant to hydrate skin.

Dry Skin

  • Lancome Foaming Cleansing Makeup Remover contains acacia honey that contains a rich supply of minerals and is a natural humectant. This foaming wash gently cleanses, removes makeup and keeps your skin hydrated. I like using this to remove the piled on the powder from a dramatic makeup look. This foaming clensner formula is pretty sticky but the results and heating effect is worth it.

  • Botanic Farm Grain Ferment Cleansing Sherbet

Oily Skin

  • Neutrogena Oil Free Cleansing Wipes contains salicyclic acid that helps with acne prone skin

  • Palmer’s Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil I know that this suggestion seems counter-intuitive but the oils contained within this cleanser contains a linoleic acid. One cause of oily skin and breakouts is because of the lack linoleic acid. Incorporating more oils that contains high linoleic acid percentages will help prevent future breakouts.

Normal/Combo Skin

Sensitive Skin

Step 2. Cleansing

I have been alternating between using the same facial wash since 2012. The Dessert Essence Daily Face Wash and my new fave Balancing Skin Cleanser from Pure Beauty.

Dry Skin

Oily Skin

  • Dessert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash my tried and true cleanser that has been my staple product since 2012. The tea tree oil in this product is anti-bacterial and helps immensely with my occasional break outs.

Normal/Combo Skin

  • Pure Beauty Skin Care Balancing Face Cleanser - I follow my Dessert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash with this Pure Beauty cleanser to balance my skin’s ph level. Your skin should have a slight acidic ph level of 5.5, if your skin becomes too acidic, your skin will battle with becoming too oily. Overly alkalized causes dry skin.

    • The best way to gauge where your ph levels at home is to study your cleansed skin while dry to determine the state of your skin.

Sensitive Skin

Step 3. Toner

My favorite toner to use is WitchHazel. Doesn’t matter the brand, as long as it’s WitchHazel i’m fine. The tannins in witch hazel serves as a natural astringent to contract skin to minimize pores and prevent an excess of oil accumulation. Using a toner will help balance skin ph and treat accordingly depending on the ingredients the toner contains.

Dry Skin

I recommend looking for toners that contain Rose water and Green Tea. The rose water increases skins hydration and the antioxidants within green tea helps with elasticity giving your skin a supple youthful glow.

Oily Skin

Stay away from alcohol based toners, I know that some products that contain alcohol say that it will help prevent future breakouts, but from my experience these alcohol based toners causes dry skin and for more sebum to be produced than normal. The overproduction of oil then puts you backing the cycle of oily skin.

Toners that contain AHA and/or Tea Tree Oil should be on your radar.

Normal/Combo Skin

Any toner that doesn’t contain alcohol will work for this skin type.

Sensitive Skin

Look for toners that contain cucumber and green tea to calm the skin.

Step 4. Eye Cream

I switch it up to treat whatever my eyes are showing me. Currently i’m in love with Biossance Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel it’s suitable for all skin types. It brightens, tightens, and reduces fine lines in the under eye area.

Step 5. Oil

Almond Oil is my recommendation for all skin types except oily. I exclusively use this oil to hydrate and rejuvenate my skin.

Oily Skin

Having oily skin doesn’t exclude you from this step! The correct oils will help treat and bring balance to your skin. My custom Skin Seeds O.S.O (Oily Skin Oil) includes a blend of Grapeseed, Rosehip, and Tea Tree oils that contains high levels of linoleic acid to bring balance.

It’s important to observe the progress of your skin to determine when it’s time to change your oil to supplement the current state of your skin.

This product will be made to order for those who request it.

Step 6. Potent Night Harvest Serum

My Skin Seeds Night Harvest Serum contains high levels of Oleic Acid and this is the component that adds a supple texture to your skin. Containing Shea Nut Oil, Aloe, Linoleic acid, and Neem Oil this all natural serum will help with skin cell regeneration overnight with consistent use.

I have been using this mixture for over a decade and I’m happy to share some of my skin potions with you. I'm doing a special Launch Price of $35 for you guys that will expire Friday or when the first batch sells out. Whichever one comes first.

WHEW! Not bad for my first post! I will get better in time with formatting and finding my voice, but what’s most important is that you guys get the information that I took time to research to improve and enhance your already existing beauty.
